WHY WE NEED YOU

We are seeking an experienced Subtitling Project Lead to join us initially on a 1-year contract at our flagship facility in Soho, London. For the right person, we very much hope that this role will become permanent as our business continues to grow. The ideal candidate will have professional experience coordinating subtitling projects for Theatrical, Broadcast, Home Entertainment or VOD. We need you to understand the work that goes into top quality subtitles, as well as production timescales and workflows, with practical knowledge of industry-standard tools. The work you do here will directly impact the viewer experience, whether it be for localization subtitles or captions for the hard of hearing, so we’re looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, a great eye for detail, a focus on quality and a passion for language. Whether your background is in translation, subtitle QC or captioning, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join an expanding in-house team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Subtitling Project Lead for our Downstream workstream, you will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of subtitling projects for Home Entertainment & VOD platforms, liaising with Eikon’s account managers. This will include planning, scheduling and trouble-shooting workflows, but the Project Lead is also very much a hands-on role within the subtitling team, working on template creation, subtitle reformatting and technical QC. Projects may involve multiple languages, episodes and versions, for which you will distribute tasks among team members, so there is a lot of collaboration and information sharing, even while you focus on your own particular priorities and deadlines.

To succeed at EIKON, candidates must be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible and above all professional with a great determination to succeed. They'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines, manage time and pressure well and have extremely high standards of quality. It is a fast-paced industry, where clients’ needs are constantly changing, so it’s important to be adaptable and comfortable making informed decisions in ambiguous situations.

The Subtitling team works closely with other departments at EIKON and opportunities often arise to be involved in new projects which expand the scope of our subtitling work. We’re constantly developing new techniques and workflows, so are looking for people with the desire and ability to learn new software, concepts, and processes, both currently and going forward. We’d like to give you the chance to develop your skills and contribute to the continuing success of our company.

We have the most innovative team in the industry, working with high-profile clients, and we’re looking for applicants who are excited to be a part of it.
