We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager, Subtitling to join us at our flagship facility in Soho, London. To succeed at EIKON, candidates must be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible, but above all professional with a great determination to succeed. They'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines, managing pressure well and have extremely high standards of quality. This is a fast-paced industry, where clients’ needs are constantly changing, so the right candidates need to be adaptable and comfortable making informed decisions in ambiguous situations. They will possess the desire and ability to learn new software, concepts and workflows, both currently and going forward. Attitude is key; we reward those that are proactive, going above and beyond what is expected of them.


This will be a vital role in our subtitling department. The successful candidate must exude a passion for subtitles, have extensive experience in inter-departmental coordination, be meticulously organised and have the confidence to lead, alongside the Production Director. They must be a great communicator, have man-management experience with staff reporting directly into them, and also be technically versed in all aspects of Subtitling. They will work diligently to ensure operations within and outside of the department run smoothly, organising and chairing regular meetings to ensure coherence across all projects. They will be astute at identifying issues before they arise and effectively communicate any concerns with the relevant departments in order for projects to run seamlessly. They take pride in output and want their name attached to excellence, showcasing their passion for the work, whether talking with fellow employees or senior-level clients. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with all manner of production during busy periods, full training will be given. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Oversee and coordinate all subtitle projects for theatrical feature, short form and on-demand content
  • Man-management of department, organising shifts and ensuring coherence across all projects
  • Responsible for carrying out employee procedures, resolving any personnel issues
  • Building, maintaining and adhering to client specific workflows
  • Liaising and collaborating with internal departments
  • Ensuring continuous training of departmental staff is tracked efficiently in our internal systems
  • Documenting, and continual development of all departmental workflows
  • Liaising directly with the Account Management team to resolve any work order issues
  • Scheduling and organising all projects, identifying busy periods and arranging cover as required
  • Managing and continually building Eikon’s portfolio of translators ensuring quality
  • Producing KPI’s that identify bottlenecks in workflows and present solutions to departmental VP
  • Performing other related duties as assigned


  • Creating subtitle language projects for Theatrical, OTT & VOD platforms
  • Managing incoming subtitle files from a variety of sources
  • Conforming and importing incoming files and scripts
  • Reviewing files over backgrounds
  • QC and error reporting in 2D & 3D
  • Exporting proofs, simulations and final files for mastering
  • Problem solving language related issues


  • Extensive knowledge of subtitling, particularly for broadcast and on demand services
  • Proven man-management experience for at least 3 years in a similar role
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically
  • Superlative attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus at all times
  • Professionalism when liaising with senior-level clients
  • Adaptable and quick to react to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative, but also be a team player
  • Focus to work across multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritising effectively
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during busy periods

  • BA degree required in relevant discipline
